A New Season

The “October Winds” which bring an end to the rainy season in El Salvador have arrived late this year! Last week violent winds came tearing through the city bringing down trees and knocking out power for several hours. Since the storm temperatures have been cool, and the skies have been blue.

Sometimes the change of seasons can bring stress and obstacles, but also peace and new resolutions. We are now in a season of transition ourselves. A few weeks ago, we celebrated four years of life and ministry in El Salvador. For the past four years, we have served as part of the El Salvador staff for Youth With A Mission. We have grown so much during that time, and feel truly blessed with the wonderful friends and co-workers that we have had.

Now we feel God is calling us to something new. We recently took a step of faith and obedience and resigned from our positions with YWAM. We look forward to continuing to collaborate with YWAM in the future since we are all dedicated to sharing the love and hope of Jesus Christ in San Salvador.

So what is ahead for us?

The short answer is that we will be expanding the street ministry that we have been doing, and we will be focusing 100% of our time and resources on serving our friends living on the streets, women and girls who have been sexually exploited, and kids most at risk of ending up on the streets. We will be continuing to work with Mission to El Salvador and we are excited to share the news that Mission to El Salvador will be opening a new El Salvador office and gaining non-profit status here in El Salvador!

We will continue to operate under the guidance of our Board of Directors, and under the accountablity of Discovery Christian Church. We will also be working closely with our local church in El Salvador, Centro Cristiano Internacional.

Please pray with us through this transition as we have a lot of paperwork ahead! We also ask that you pray for more staff who have a heart for El Salvador to join us. As things are transitioning, we will be updating our website with more information about our staff and the work that we are doing.

Thank you for your continued encouragment and support. Please don’t hestitate to contact us at info@missiontoelsalvador.com if you have any questions.
