Since September, El Salvador has been getting ready for Christmas. In a country with no Halloween and no Thanksgiving to celebrate, Christmas is a really big deal and people start decorating months in advance.

Like everyone else, we are getting ready for Christmas too! At MTES, Christmas is a huge opportunity for us to serve others because most of the men, women, and children involved in our ministries have no family to celebrate with this Christmas. We believe that God has called us to step in and share some joy with our friends this season.

This year we are going to be celebrating Christmas with children who have no family or cannot safely be with their family, women and girls who have survived human trafficking, the community served by the health clinic, and our friends who live on the streets.

We cannot do this without your help, so we are looking for sponsors to help us with the following Christmas celebrations:

– Christmas dinner and gifts for children who have been orphaned, abandoned, or abused and who are living in protection centers. We are going to be serving 190 children this year.

– Christmas celebrations and gifts for women and girls who have survived human trafficking. We will be doing a party for underage survivors, and a Christmas party for the women in the Free The Girls program. We will be celebrating with 22 women and girls.

– Christmas fair and children’s party with the community served by the health clinic that we operate in partnership with Latin American Children’s Fund. The parents can shop for their kids, while the children enjoy a fun event. We are expecting 150 kids for this party.

– Christmas party and gifts for our friends on the street. This year we are offering two seatings on Christmas Eve to serve a traditional Christmas dinner with our friends who have no family to celebrate with for the holidays.
