Thank you Discovery!

The Discovery team left to head back to the states early this morning. We are very sad to see them go. We had a great week with them. They were absolutely amazing. It was so encouraging for us to see kids who are as young as 12 working so hard in the heat, stepping out of their comfort zone to spend time with the kids here who are so in need, and to think of others before themselves. Hearing the reflections they had about their week made it clear to me that God has been moving in their lives.  We are here in El Salvador for many reasons…to serve God, to serve the Salvadorans, but also to facilitate experiences like this for people coming to the States. I am so grateful that our family got to be a part of this process for this amazing group of students and leaders. Our kids had a blast too, and by the end of the week everyone was “brother” or “sister” to them. Tori even told the group she would be praying for them and I know that she will! She loves to pray for others even at her age and I’m glad she has the connection with these students. Of course, it was hard to say good-bye. The kids and I said good-bye to the team last night and Tori ended up crying herself to sleep. It breaks my heart to see her so sad, but I am glad she got to experience this week with the group. So, thank you Discovery for your hard work! You are awesome and you are welcome back anytime!
